About
Sharva is the Student Affairs Coordinator at the School of Social Work, where she is responsible for student programming which includes educational, social, and philanthropic events. She serves as the primary point of contact for the campus MSW and iMSW programs, focusing on student advising and recruitment. Also, Sharva is the liaison for the Graduate Social Work Association and its Executive Board.
Sharva is an alum of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work, receiving a BSW in 1990 and an MSW in 1993 with a concentration in Child Welfare. Before joining the Academic Programs unit, she was the Program Director of the Foster Parent Training Program that is managed through a contractual agreement between the Department of Children and Family Services and the School of Social Work. She has worked in Child Welfare as a supervisor, trainer, and therapist, as well as founder and CEO of a nonprofit organization. Sharva has also worked in higher education as an academic advisor, program coordinator, and adjunct lecturer.
