Transforming Women’s Health in Pregnancy and Childbirth Through Research, Collaboration and Responsive Innovation
Join us on Monday, March 3, at 1:00 PM for an insightful discussion on improving maternal health through research, collaboration, and innovation. This event, part of the Illinois Social Work BRIDGE Grant Research Series, will feature two leading experts from the University of Birmingham’s WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Women’s Health:
- Dr. John Allotey – An epidemiologist specializing in maternal and perinatal health, Dr. Allotey’s research has shaped international guidelines on pregnancy-related conditions, from epilepsy in pregnancy to hypertensive disease and maternal care during COVID-19.
- Dr. Soha Sobhy – A global women’s health researcher and high-risk pregnancy specialist, Dr. Sobhy focuses on reducing maternal mortality and improving maternity safety, with a special interest in the safe and appropriate use of caesarean sections.
