Research Grants Support Student/Faculty Collaboration

Student Recipient Highlights
Undergraduate students Liz Guenther and Matt Saxsma have been awarded Research Support Grants through the Illinois Office of Undergraduate Research to work with School of Social Work Professor Rachel Garthe.
Liz who is a Social Work major will be researching the delivery and impact of a horticulture therapy-based program. This program empowers high school students through community-focused projects while aiming to reduce health inequities and prevent violence. She will assist with curriculum development and program evaluation during the summer.
Matt Saxsma is a Psychology and Statistics major. He will be researching the experiences of interpersonal violence, including stalking and cyber-stalking, among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic. He will assist with data analyses and conduct literature reviews.
